She began her career as a REALTOR in 2000 when she joined forces with her mother-in-law, Inez Forest to form The Forest Team. She attended Langley High School in McLean, VA. After graduating from Ohio University she worked in the field of Human Resources. She later went on to receive her Masters in Early Childhood Education at George Mason University and taught at Louise Archer Elementary, Vienna, Virginia, before entering the real estate profession.
